What you get#
One article roughly every two weeks. The same thing that goes on the blog: how AI crawlers actually read a page, what the vendors document versus what gets repeated, and the Next.js and WordPress code behind whatever I had to work out that fortnight.
No digest, no "5 links we liked", no course. If a piece took a scan of 53 domains or a week of measuring to write, that is the piece you get.
What you do not get#
- No tracking pixel. The mail is plain text, so there is nothing in it that reports back when you opened it or whether you clicked.
- No list swaps, no sponsors, no forwarding your address anywhere. The list lives in one Resend audience and is used to send these articles.
- No second email to tell you about the first. Unsubscribing is one click and it is honoured immediately.
How the signup works#
Two steps, on purpose.
- You leave an address. It is stored as unconfirmed — nothing is ever sent to it in that state.
- You get one message with a link. Clicking it confirms the address; the link expires after 48 hours.
If you never click, nothing happens: the address stays unconfirmed and receives no articles. That is what stops someone signing you up for a list you never asked for, and it is why the first mail is the only one you get without agreeing to it.
FAQ#
How often do you send?#
Roughly one article every two weeks, which is the rate the blog is written at. There is no separate newsletter-only content, so if the writing slows down, so does the mail.
Why do I have to confirm?#
Because otherwise anyone could put your address on the list. The contact is created unconfirmed and only starts receiving articles after you click the link in the first message. It also keeps the list clean, which is the difference between mail arriving and mail landing in spam.
What happens to my email address?#
It goes into one audience at Resend, the service that sends the mail, and is used for these articles. It is not sold, swapped, or fed into anything else. Unsubscribe removes you from the audience.
I did not get the confirmation link#
Check spam first. If it is not there, subscribe again — a new link is sent each time, and the old one simply expires. If it still does not arrive, mail me at alexturik@gmail.com and I will look at the log.
Can I just read the site instead?#
Yes, and there are two machine-readable ways as well: the RSS feed, and llms.txt with a markdown twin of every page if you would rather have a model read it for you.
